About Tax Relief SA
Tax Relief SA is an independent South African tax assistance and dispute advisory service. We help businesses and private clients review SARS debt, assessments, outstanding returns and delayed refunds, with the scope of work and fees agreed in writing before any representative action is taken.
Independent of SARS - and not a debt-counsellor
Tax Relief SA (Pty) Ltd is an independent tax assistance service and is not part of SARS or a debt-counselling firm. We assist taxpayers in understanding and pursuing the procedural remedies available under South African tax law; we do not decide your matter, and SARS is not bound by anything we propose.
South African taxpayers facing a SARS matter
Our service is built for taxpayers who need a clear, procedural read on a SARS issue before committing to a course of action - not for those seeking guaranteed outcomes or consumer debt relief.
Individuals & Provisional
Salaried earners and provisional taxpayers with assessments, unfiled returns or refund holds on their personal tax profiles.
Companies & CCs
Registered entities dealing with CIT, VAT or PAYE exposure, final demands or third-party appointments on business bank accounts.
Trusts & Sole Proprietors
Trusts and sole proprietors needing to confirm filing status or respond to a SARS query before collection steps escalate.
What we do - and what we do not
A quick reference so you know exactly where our service begins and ends before you share any details.
What Tax Relief SA does
- Reviews SARS debt, notices, outstanding returns and delayed refunds against the relevant tax procedures.
- Explains the statutory options that may apply to your specific facts, such as objection, suspension of payment, deferral or compromise.
- Prepares structured submissions and liaises with SARS only after a formal engagement and written scope are agreed.
- Works with individuals, provisional taxpayers, companies, close corporations and trusts across South Africa.
What Tax Relief SA does not do
- Act as SARS, or claim any affiliation with SARS or a government department.
- Provide consumer debt review, debt counselling or loan consolidation services.
- Guarantee a particular outcome, refund amount, debt reduction or stopped collection.
- Publish unverified staff names, qualifications, partner firms or awards.
How we approach a SARS matter
Three principles shape every engagement. They are also why we will not promise a result before the facts are known.
Facts before action
We read the actual notices, statement of account and filing history before recommending any step. A proposed remedy only follows once the underlying facts are confirmed.
Procedural, not adversarial
Most SARS matters resolve through correct procedure - compliant objections, verified document packs and timely escalation. We focus on getting the process right rather than overpromising.
Written scope first
No work, document collection or representative authority begins until you have reviewed and approved a written scope and fee quotation. You retain control throughout.
Questions about who handles your matter
Who will handle my matter?
After the initial triage, your matter is scoped and a written proposal sets out the work required. Only once you formally engage us does a representative act on your behalf under a SARS Power of Attorney. Named practitioners and their roles are confirmed with you directly during engagement. To speak with the team before then, use the contact page or see how working with us works.
Are you part of SARS?
No. Tax Relief SA is an independent advisory service. We are not SARS, we do not represent SARS, and we have no authority to decide your tax position. SARS remains the only body that can issue or vary an assessment, release a refund or suspend collection.
How are specialist matters handled?
Where a matter requires specialist input beyond our confirmed scope, we will tell you plainly and explain what additional review or referral may be appropriate. We do not claim specialist credentials we cannot verify, and we will not quietly guess at a remedy. See our editorial policy for how we handle information that has not yet been confirmed.
